  • 3 ways in which reasonable compensation can be determined
  • Spend a bit more time on the cost approach as it’s usually the approach most often use with sole owner/shareholder S Corporations.
  • Ways to stress test the compensation, how often it should be assessed and reconciled?
  • Ways in which it can be fixed if the owner didn’t take the correct compensation?
  • What do to do if the client didn’t take reasonable compensation?
  • What is the S Corp owner cannot afford to pay reasonable compensation?

About Our Speaker

Anna Ortiz

Anna Ortiz has been the Principal at North Shore Accounting Services since late 2020, but she has been in the accounting field for over 20 years. Anna graduated Northeastern University in 2001 with a degree in Finance and has worked as an accountant ever since, becoming a CPA in 2018. Anna focuses on helping service-based businesses make sense of their numbers, set and achieve their business goals by providing quality accounting, tax and advisory services. Anna is passionate about educating her client base, because let’s face it-knowledge is power. Anna is the host of the Growth Advisor Podcast.

Anna is also the “O” in T&O Strategic Advisory which is a new venture she started in 2023 with Sarah Tatum, EA of Tatum Accounting located in Suffolk, VA. T&O Strategic Advisory focuses heavily on CFO advisory services and strategic business support.
