Elizabeth Logan, EA –  President:

Beth has a tax practice and consulting company in Chelmsford. She focuses on helping individuals and small businesses. She teaches tax classes to lay persons and professionals. In the lulls between tax seasons, she researches tax topics, writes books, and represents clients before the IRS. She has an MBA from the University of Maryland and two engineering degrees from Georgia Institute of Technology.

Paul Hewick, EA 2nd Vice President

Paul Hewick became an Enrolled Agent on October 19, 2011 and has prepared tax returns with H&R Block since 2006.  He earned his undergraduate degree at Washington University, in St Louis, MBA degree from The George Washington University, and Graduate Accounting Certificate from Bentley University.  Since joining MASEA in 2011 he has been a member of the leadership committee and always looked for ways to update MASEA’s technology.  In addition to his focus on taxation, Paul has previously worked as a Financial Analyst at Unidine Corporation, and as a Marketing Specialist at Fidelity Investments.  Paul’s current goals are to expand his taxation skill set, and provide guidance to those considering a taxation career path.



Dale Lewis, MBA, CFA, CFP, EA – Treasurer : [ Details ]
Dale Lewis prepares tax returns and advises on taxes for individuals and corporations for H&R Block. Prior to becoming an Enrolled Agent, she was a Senior Manager for Corporate Market Strategy at Lucent Technologies. She began her career as Technical Librarian at Bell Laboratories in Murray Hill, NJ. Along the way she earned an MBA from Boston University and a Financial Analyst Charter from CFA Institute. She is a Fellow of the National Tax Practice Institute, and a member of NATP, NSTP, FPA, CFA Institute and Boston Securities Analysts. She enjoys teaching advanced tax courses, representing taxpayers before the IRS, helping clients with life’s financial decisions, and personal investing.

Mark Lawless, EA-Director

Mark Lawless is a Director of MASEA and  member of NAEA and FEI. He has over 30 years of experience in finance, accounting, and business financial planning. He has held C-level positions in both medium and large corporations. He is an Enrolled Agent and NTPI Fellow providing tax services and representation for individuals and small businesses. He holds graduate degrees and certifications in finance, accounting, and economics. He is an alumnus of Southern Illinois University (Edwardsville), Washington University (St. Louis), Bentley University, and Boston College.

John has over thirty years of tax preparation experience. He also has experience with Fortune 100 corporate and international tax software design and application development. Most recently he verifies tax software compliance and has become a subject matter expert for a do-it-yourself retail software product. He just founded a fresh idea venture of an experienced tax professional consortium to serve the Medford area. He prepares individual, small business and non-profit tax returns. He is an enrolled agent and officer of MASEA. John seeks to become a NPTI fellow.


Joyce Ann Mohr, EA –  Past President : [ Details ]
Joyce Mohr, EA is the owner of Taxes Plus, a tax preparation and consulting business with locations in Rockport Maine and Somerville Massachusetts. She is a graduate of Boston University. She began her career in tax by managing a retail tax office for a major US tax preparation company where she also taught continuing education classes to tax preparers in areas including: international, rental and depreciation. For many years she taught Part II of the Special Enrolled Agent Test Preparation course through MaSEA.  She is a seasonal software quality assurance analyst for a do-it-yourself tax preparation product. She has been an enrolled agent and a member of MaSEA since 2007. In 2013 she was honored with the MaSEA Enrolled Agent of the Year award. She is serving as a director on the board of the National Association of Enrolled Agents (since 2015). In 2010 she co-founded “Acacia in Kenya” an outreach project that partners with community leaders in Mumias, Western Kenya to care for and educate the community’s high school girls
